Brigada Eskwela 2017

Before the school year 2017-2018 kicks off, the Department of Education conduct this Brigada Eskwela activity at school.  This is an annual program by the Department of Education wherein teachers, parents, students, interested parties, and other volunteers who give their time in this community service like cleaning the classrooms, doing some repairs, painting, and other things that needs to be done before the new school years starts.  This is a long week event wherein volunteers are encouraged to give their time and efforts for minor repairs at school.  Also, the schools accepted donations in kind such as paints, cements, brooms, rugs, lumber and other things needed at school.

This school year 2017-2018, the Brigada Eskwela starts on May 15-19, 2017.  The teachers, students, parents, and other volunteers are busy checking and examining everything at school.  Minors repairs will be done a week before the first day of school.  This program is a good idea because everybody are helping each other to make the school ready for the school year.  We will be able to see parents, teachers, students and other volunteers doing these volunteer works, also called Bayanihan (cooperative jobs).  My brother and nieces are already participating in their school.  They are now getting ready for the enrollment next week.

Brigada Eskwela 2015

It’s Brigada Eskwela once again.  The program initiated by DepEd ( Department of Education) that encourage and invites parents and teachers to give their time and efforts to make good learning environments for elementary and high school students in preparation for the opening of the class.  This is an annual maintenance program for parents, teachers, students, community members, and other organizations to do clean-up and repairs on their schools.  This program will last for one week, enough time to make the schools ready for the new school year.  To those working parents who does not have time for this program are encouraged to give paint, lumber, cements and other materials for school.  This is a nice program because parents, teachers, students and other community members are uniting for one purpose.

Just like the earlier years, my brother and his wife will not be able to take part because they both are working.  They will just give paint for the classroom and brooms.  They have three kids so most probably they will give three paints.  My brother wants to experience participating in Brigada Eskwela program because he knows a little about construction and electric jobs, it would be a big help if he is there but he can’t leave his job.  Hopefully he will be able to take part so he can give not only in kind/s but also his service.
