God bless their hearts

The country once again hit by another typhoon names ‘Maring’.  Due to too much rain, some part of the country especially the northern part was flooded up to now.  It will break my heart seeing my countrymen struggling to save their lives, family and their stuffs.  The typhoon leaves a devastating result.  Thousands of families are now staying in evacuation area for their houses was flooded.  Despite what happened, they still feel blessed because their alive and their families are fine.  They still manage to smile because they are safe.  To them, life is more important above anything else.

Relief goods are given away, some are giving foods for the victims, media, celebrities, politicians, and those who have good hearts that is willing to share their blessings.  God bless their the hearts of those individual who gives time, money, foods and other goods to the victims of flood cause by typhoon ‘Maring’.  I do pray that the flood will be over so the victims can go back to their houses and start cleaning.  It is sad truth but life is like that.  We may experience a very difficult situation but the show must go on.  We must continue living.  God will always there for us.

Series of storms

Because of the series of storm that is hitting the country, some areas are flooding.  Residence are moving to evacuation area for their safety.  The storm causes heavy rains for days.  In Luzon areas, some classes were suspended because of the heavy rain and floods.  I have watched news of television about the storm update and it makes me sad seeing those people walking in the water, water is coming in their house, flash flood and other incidents caused by the heavy rain.  This calamity is normal because the country do experiences lots of storms and typhoons in a year.  But still it is sad to see the damage it caused to affected areas.

Flooding happens because of the clogged water drainage, throwing of garbage anywhere, and cutting of trees (logging).  These are some of the reasons that is why people were advised to clean the drainage and canal, throw the garbage in proper places and stop logging.  Trees does helps absorbing the water from the rain and prevents soil erosion.  Unfortunately, there are greedy people who keep on doing the logging of trees for their own benefits.  Sad to say, they are doing it for business.  That is why they are not sensitive enough to care for the mother earth.  I do wish that this would stop so that people will be free from flooding and flash floods.  And also, I hope that people will do coöperate in cleaning the drainage and throwing their garbage in proper places so that no more stagnant water.

When Natural Disaster Strikes

I have experienced and seen several floods here in the city where I live.  The past floods are manageable.  I only seen heavy floods where people are killed, missing, houses are destroyed and many other properties in other parts of my country.  I never thought that my city will experienced the same flood.  Last June 28, 2011 at around 10:30 in the evening, people awaken by heavy rains and thunder.  On the next minutes, flash floods are washing out cars, houses and other properties.  The residents of the affected areas caught unaware and was shocked seeing water coming inside their houses.  I felt really sad seeing those victims losing their house.  It is really a devastating experience the city could ever have.  The painful experienced I must say.  Some are crying looking at their dead family member and others are crying of their lost love ones.

Some are blaming the government because of lacking of facilities to rescue the victims.  And some are saying this is the sign of what they called ‘the end of the world’.  I do not think there is nothing to do with end of the world and the government faults.  If we are to think about it, this is the result of what we call progress.  Many are cutting trees in the upper area of the city and converted the area into housing project.  No more trees to hold the water that comes from heavy rains.  I hope that people/government will realized it so that no more painful experience such as this.  We have to think of preserving out nature, because when natural disaster strikes no one is exempted.  We all suffer especially the young ones.  What had happened last June 28, 2011 is a lesson learned for everybody. We should do our part as residents of this city to have clean and green environment, to avoid another flash floods that kills people.
