The year of Filipina Beauty

Many say that the year 2013 is not a good year because of the last two digits which is the 13.  I do not know why they said it and where did they get the idea that the number 13 is not a good number.  If this number is bad luck, why they put this number?  Do you think that way too?  Well, in life we do encounter bad times and good times.  It is part of living the life we want.  Also, we cannot live a meaningful life if we only want good times, right?  Have you ever thought that bad times really make us stronger and wiser person because we learned from that and we do not want to happen it again.  Once is enough as they say.

Anyhow, this year is a good year for the Filipina beauties internationally.  The country has won three major titles of some prestigious beauty pageant.  The country grabbed the Miss Supranational 2013, Miss World 2013 and the Miss International 2013.  Good enough to say that Filipina beauties reign this year.  Though the country faces series of calamities this year, yet there are still reasons to celebrate.  I must say 2013 isn’t bad at all.  In my personal life, I can also tell that this year is great to me.  I have loving family and receive blessings from God.

I missed the pageant

Watching beauty pageant is one of my passions.  Call me frustrated beauty queen and I will accept that because I am.  Well, it is every women/girls dream right?  But not all are given the chance to be a beauty queen.  I have accepted that I don’t have the height, looks, intelligent and the body to be a beauty queen.  haha!  That is why I will am contented to be just an avid fan.  Watching beauty pageant makes me dream to become a beauty queen come true.  I always puts myself on the last contestant.  That is how pathetic and frustrated I am.  And also, puts myself a winner. woohoo!

Anyways, last night was the much awaited beauty pageant here in the country.  The pageant where the people will choose of which of the beauties will represent the country in the Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International.  I am sad because I missed to watch the pageant. And it is because of my older brother.arghs!  He watch UFC show on different channel.  Even if I asked him just to watch the final interview, he doesn’t want me to.  I am sad that I missed the pageant this year.  I will have to wait for another year to watch the next beauty pageant.  Oh well, I can watch the international pageant when they are going to represent the country abroad.

Beauty with a Mission

Photobucket

picture not mine

The above photo is the winners of the recently concluded Mutya ng Dabaw 2012 pageant.  The pageant was one of the highlights of the 75th Araw ng Dabaw.  These ladies will be the ambassador of the city.   I was able to watch the pageant on live stream.  I was happy because it’s the first that I watched the pageant live.  Though I am not there watching personally, seeing it on live stream is like I am at the event watching.  I do love to watch beauty pageant and so I watched the pageant.

Just like other beauty pageant, these ladies has different charity works, projects and mission that they will be continue doing during their reign.  During the pageant, they mentioned their mission and plans which makes these ladies more beautiful.  They are not just for beauty and brains, they also wanted to reach out helping others.  Indeed beauty pageant is one great way to help others.  They can be the ambassador of goodwill.  It is true that their beauty has a mission and their mission to help others will come true. Good luck to these ladies, I hope that they will surely continue doing charity works to less fortunate ones especially the kids that they mentioned during the competition.
